Dr. Daniella Horváth

Equine veterinary specialist

Dr. Horváth has been working as the veterinarian for the Bábolna stud farm for nearly 20 years.

She takes great joy in following the development of foals from conception to their racing careers. In 2007, she earned her equine specialist veterinarian certification, and in 2017, she completed an acupuncture and phytotherapy qualification in Belgium, where she embraced the integrative approach inherent in traditional Chinese medicine. In treating horses, she prioritizes natural, biogenic methods, such as stem cell therapy and herb-based products, which align with Ayurveda and Chinese medicine to effectively and gently support the animals' healing processes.

"In 2002, I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest and began working at the Large Animal Veterinary Clinic in Üllő. I completed my internship at the Kerteskő Stud in the Bakony region. In 2004, I was invited to Dióspuszta, where I took on the care of the Bábolna Stud, a responsibility I have carried out for nearly 20 years, with minor interruptions.

The most rewarding part of my work is being able to follow a foal’s journey from insemination to its racing career. I also enjoy observing how breeding priorities evolve over time.

In 2007, alongside my work, I passed the equine specialist veterinarian exam. In 2017, I completed a certification program in acupuncture and phytotherapy for veterinarians in Belgium, conducted by IVAS, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. This two-year program focuses on the body’s ability to regenerate itself. Acupuncture, based on traditional Chinese medicine, views the body as governed by a dominant element that determines body type and influences energy flow, often signalling imbalances through symptoms or illnesses. Consequently, when addressing a specific symptom, I assess the entire body's functioning. This approach has led me to surprising conclusions, such as uncovering organ-related issues behind lameness. I continue to practice this holistic method and plan to further strengthen this approach while minimizing the use of synthetic products, which, in my experience, often contribute to the body’s deterioration over long-term use.

I prioritize biogenic treatments, such as stem cell therapy for orthopaedic issues, joint problems, and tendon injuries. I also employ physiotherapy, laser therapy, Bemer therapy, and support manual therapies like massage. In addition to my work with the stud, I also have my own equine practice. I consider myself a general equine veterinarian, capable of handling issues such as lameness in the stud without needing the intervention of additional specialists.

I became acquainted with Garuda Ayurveda products and Ayurveda around 2020, and they seamlessly align with my healing methods and philosophy. I have particularly significant experience with Pulmofarm, Estrofarm (formerly Janova), Seminogen, Diaroak, and Charmil Gel. At the Bábolna Stud, Seminogen and Estrofarm, along with Uraksha tablets, have proven invaluable in improving reproductive performance. In my equine practice, Pulmofarm and Charmil have yielded especially positive results. The availability of a large animal population for testing these products has allowed me to observe the capabilities of herbal remedies. Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine have proven to be remarkably similar in many of their properties, philosophies, and treatment approaches."
